Best Way to restore & add volume to your lips.
What are Lip Fillers?
Lip fillers are a type of dermal filler. They are injections that increase the volume of your lips. The fillers contain synthetic Hyaluronic Acid (HA), a natural substance in your body. To get lip fillers, you should be healthy without any active oral infection, like cold sores or canker sores.
Besides adding volume to your lips, you can go for fillers to restore your lip size, fix the lips’ shape, smoothen wrinkles, and boost your body image. At CNF, you can get your lip fillers safely from our experts.
Types of Filler Used in Lips
When it comes to lip augmentation, you can choose from a variety of fillers. Here are the most common types of fillers used on lips:
Hyaluronic Acid Fillers
HA fillers contain only hyaluronic acid, which your body produces naturally. HA fillers add volume to your lips and improve their shape and structure. Such fillers plump your lips and trap water inside them to give you a naturalistic full pout. They last for six to twelve months. Juvederm and Restylane are the most famous HA lip fillers in the marketplace.
Collagen Lip Fillers
Collagen lip fillers have grown extremely popular recently because of the comfort and the more natural look they give than HA fillers. Collagen plumps your lips and stays for longer and the newest options are quite safer than the older versions.
Permanent Silicone Lip Fillers
As permanent silicone lip fillers are permanent, they require no maintenance. Such lip-shaped implants are inserted through two little incisions created in your lips. Plus, you can easily remove the latest silicone implants from your lips if you face any complications. However, many people don’t prefer permanent silicone lip fillers because of the less natural feel.
Fat Transfer Lip Injections
Fat transfer lip injections can enhance your lips’ symmetry, texture, fullness, and size. Surgeons take fat cells from a patient’s thighs, abdomen or buttocks, and other fat-rich body parts. Then, they process and inject the fat (usually 2 to 10cc) into your lips and smile lines. The procedure requires up to 3 sessions to deliver the desired results.
What are the Different Brands of Hyaluronic Acid Lip Fillers?
Here are the most popular brands of hyaluronic acid lip fillers:
Juvederm HA filler adds volume to your lips and plumps your mouth area to diminish wrinkles and smile lines. It is malleable and has a better gel consistency than other brands because of which your full lips will look natural. Ultra XC and Volbella XC are two types of Juvederm filler that work well for lips and the surrounding area. Even though the concentration of hyaluronic acid differs, both will deliver long-term results and stay up to 1 year.
Restylane HA filler is extremely versatile because of being an augmenting agent and delivering natural-looking results. It is a granular gel that creates a firmer viscosity than Juvederm. The product’s texture keeps it where it is positioned. Restylane enhances your lips and surrounding areas. Restylane Silk is exclusively developed to lift and plump lips and define smooth lines and borders on your lips and the area surrounding your mouth. You can see the enhancements once the treatment gets done and the results stay for 6 to 10 months.
Belotero HA filler is available in different consistencies to augment your face and lip area. The product is designed to volumize your lips and diminish the fine lines. Here are the different types of Belotero HA filler with their purposes:
- Belotero Balance: improve the look of lips and fix moderate to deep lip lines
- Belotero Soft: plump lips and smooth fine lines surrounding the mouth
- Belotero Shape: add volume to lips

What is the Procedure for Lip Fillers?
We apply topical anesthesia to your lips. It numbs your lips so you don’t feel pain and the process goes comfortably and smoothly. The numbing creams usually contain benzocaine, lidocaine, and tetracaine (BLT). Your lips get numb after 15 to 30 minutes. With a thin needle, we inject filler inside certain or all parts of your lips, such as edges (vermillion border), the curve in the center (Cupid’s bow), and oral commissures (mouth corners). 1 ml of lip filler, which is approximately ⅕ th of a teaspoon, is usually injected into lips. The needle doesn’t go deeper than 2.5 mm into your skin. The entire lip filler procedure may take 30 minutes to 2 hours.
What is the Indication for Lip Augmentation?
Lip fillers are trending but may not suit all face shapes and look good on everyone. Fillers are a great solution if you have very thin lips or are getting thinner with aging. You can go for fillers if you want to add volume to your lips. Get this aesthetic treatment done if the upper lip to lower lip ratio is quite high. Fuller lips will look awesome if you have a small chin and a prominent jawline. You can always decide the number of fillers to be injected to get the desired look.
What are the Side Effects?
Here are the common side effects of lip fillers:
- Pain and bleeding in the injected areas
- Reactivation of cold sores
- Tenderness or discoloration
- Tissue death (vascular damage) can occur if lip filler gets injected inside or around the artery
- Lip size asymmetry
- The filler may bleed into other parts of your face usually towards your nose (migration)
What Makes Dr. Praharsh an Expert in Lip Filler in Bangalore?
Dr. Praharsh Devraj is a lip filler expert in Bangalore with a decade of experience in the cosmetic dermatology industry. He can use the right filler techniques to improve the shape and give a fuller look to your lips. After carefully examining your lip area, he prepares an effective filler treatment plan. As he chooses the perfect fillers and techniques, you will get the best results.
He believes that out of every 1 hour spent with a patient, 45 minutes should go into assessment and reaching an agreement in setting goals and only 15 minutes for the actual procedure.
The most common blunder in the industry is how upper lips are overfilled to an extent of losing natural movement. Most injectors do not factor in the importance of the mobile nature of the upper lip.
Another collective mistake in the industry is the ledging of the upper lip. As injectors get too artistic, they tend to overemphasise the upper lip border leading to a ledge/shelf like outcome that looks unnatural at best and hideous at worst.
Dr. Praharsh is obsessed with correlating the functionality of your lip with the aesthetic nature of it. For example, he believes that people with wrong resting lip posture and hyperactive mouth closing muscles typically lack a gentle raised border of the upper lip. They usually lack a distinction between the pink and white part of the upper lip.
After a couple of other tests, assessing the face in totality and understanding ways your lip can be improved to give you the most natural and attractive look, he will consider take you to the actual procedure.
What Other Alternative Treatments Do We Have for Lip Augmentation?
PlasmoDerm for lip augmentation can be a great alternative to lip fillers. This process involves the injection of PlasmoDerm to enhance and plump up your lips. As PlasmoDerm is created using your body’s unique cell growth factor, it is 100% safe. PlasmoDerm injection causes fat cell regeneration because of the slow release of your growth factors. This treatment works wonders when combined with HA fillers. You get a longer-lasting outcome and a smoother filler that is free of bumps or lumps and a contour.

Frequently Asked Questions On Lip Fillers
Yes, it is possible to remove lip fillers. There are a few different methods for removing lip fillers, including using hyaluronidase, a type of enzyme that breaks down hyaluronic acid fillers, which are the most commonly used type of lip filler. Hyaluronidase can be injected into the lips to dissolve the filler, and the effects are typically noticeable within a few hours.
We also have treatments which can show you a similar result of lip filler for 1-2 weeks which you can try before making the decision.
After lip fillers, it’s generally recommended to sleep with your head slightly elevated for the first few nights. This can help reduce swelling and promote healing. You may also want to sleep on your back to avoid putting pressure on your lips.
When performed by a qualified and experienced cosmetic injector, lip filler injections are generally considered safe. However, as with any medical procedure, there are potential risks and side effects to be aware of, such as bruising, swelling, infection, and allergic reactions.
It’s important to choose a qualified injector who has the necessary training and expertise to perform the procedure safely, and to follow all pre- and post-treatment instructions provided.
It’s generally recommended to avoid smoking or using tobacco products for at least 24-48 hours after lip filler injections. Smoking can increase the risk of complications such as delayed healing, infection, and poor wound healing, which can affect the final results of the treatment.
In addition, smoking can cause premature aging and wrinkles around the mouth, which can detract from the aesthetic benefits of lip fillers.
It’s generally recommended to wait at least 24 hours after lip filler injections before applying any lip products, including lipstick. This allows time for the filler to settle and for any swelling or bruising to subside.
When lip fillers wear off, the lips gradually return to their pre-treatment appearance. This process can take several months, as the filler material is gradually broken down and absorbed by the body.
As the filler dissipates, the lips may gradually lose volume and fullness, and fine lines and wrinkles may become more noticeable. However, the exact timing and degree of these changes can vary depending on the individual and the specific filler product used.
If you choose not to have the filler re-injected once it has worn off, there are other options to help maintain the appearance of the lips. These may include topical treatments, skin care products, and other non-invasive cosmetic procedures.
